Types Of Sugar

Sugar is a sweet substance that is derived from the sucrose molecule. It is a naturally occurring substance that is found in many fruits and vegetables. However, it can also be manufactured by the human body in the form of glucose. Glucose is used as a source of energy for the body’s cells. This is what gives our blood its color.

When we eat foods that contain sugar, our body will break down the sugar molecules into glucose. This is then absorbed by the body and distributed to the various parts of the body. The sugar is then used as an energy source for the cells.

However, when the amount of sugar consumed is too much, the body will not be able to absorb all the glucose. The excess sugar will then be converted into fat cells. This is known as hyperglycemia. When this happens, the body will start producing insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas. This hormone is responsible for regulating the blood sugar levels.

In order to avoid hyperglycemia, it is important that the person consumes less sugar. This is because the more sugar consumed, the higher the chances of developing diabetes. This is because the pancreas will produce less insulin. As a result, the body will not be regulated. The sugar will then be stored in the fat cells. If this continues, the person may develop diabetes.

There are different types of sugar that are available in the market today. They include:

• Table sugar – This is also known as white sugar. This is the most commonly used type of sugar in the world. It is used in almost every food preparation. It is usually added to coffee, tea, and milk. It is also used as a sweetener for other products such as cakes and cookies.

• Brown sugar – This type of sugar has a brown color. It is made from refined sugar. This type of sugar is often used in baking.

• Corn syrup – This is a sweetener that is extracted from corn. It is often used in making soft drinks and canned soups.

• Molasses – This is a thick liquid that is extracted from sugar cane. It is often used in cooking and baking.

• Honey – This is a natural sweetener that is derived from the nectar of flowers. It is often used in the production of candy.

• Syrup – This is a mixture of water and sugar. It is used in cooking and baking. It is also used as an ingredient in some medications.
