Diabetes is diagnosed by measuring your blood sugar levels. Blood sugar levels are measured in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dl). A normal blood sugar level should be less than 100 mg/dl. If you have diabetes, your blood sugar level should be above 126 mg/dl. If your blood sugar level is between 100 and 125 mg/dl, you may have prediabetes.

How Can I Control My Blood Sugar?

You can control your blood sugar level by eating a healthy diet and taking certain supplements. The most important thing you can do is to eat a diet that is high in fiber and protein. Your body needs these nutrients to convert sugar into energy. Fiber is found in fruits and vegetables and protein is found in dairy products, lean meats, eggs, and nuts. Eating these foods will help regulate your blood sugar level.

You can also take supplements such as chromium, zinc, and ginseng. Chromium is a mineral that helps increase insulin production. Zinc helps regulate your appetite and your body’s ability to use insulin. Ginseng is a herb that helps increase your body’s ability to use glucose. These supplements can help you control your blood sugar level.

A healthy lifestyle is also very important in controlling your blood sugar level. Exercise regularly and avoid smoking. These habits can help lower your blood sugar level.
